The Jewish Student Center is located at 216 Summit Street, directly across Brodhead Street from the Alumni Memorial Building, and provides a Jewish home on campus for students to gather to relax, socialize, watch TV or share a meal. Among the JSC’s amenities are free printer services, quiet study rooms, snack-stocked kosher kitchen, a dining room, a lounge area and a library. We also are connected to the Lehigh internet and have wireless internet available throughout the building. Lehigh students have access to the JSC from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends.
Through the Hillel Society, students have the opportunity to develop new friendships all within a Jewish context. The mission of the Hillel Society is to actively encourage and strengthen the continuity of Jewish values through a combination of religious, Zionist, and cultural programs for Lehigh's Jewish students.
Our program includes a regular series of dinners, holiday observances/celebrations, social events, and educational programming. In addition to the many activities we sponsor throughout the school year, we provide a kosher kitchen, dining room, lounge area, student office, and library. We continually strive to create an atmosphere that is comfortable and welcoming for our students. This effort includes providing quality programming, maintaining our facility, and upgrading our program to accommodate the ever-changing needs of our students. The Hillel Director, directs the overall programming and management, works closely with students and provides guidance.
The JSC is owned and run by the Jewish Student Advisory Council, a not-for-profit organization separate from Lehigh University and made up of a group of Lehigh alumni, faculty and staff, as well as interested Lehigh Valley Jewish community members.
